Turtle Octopus Ring Box
- turned and carved solid cherry
- black beads
- linseed oil
When the shell is pulled from the turtle, the receptacle for the engagement ring is revealed. The fit is made a hair loose in winter so that it doesn't lock up in summer (cherry moves quite a bit with humidity). Regardless, there is a push of air when closed and suction is created when pulling apart.
A project of complexity, that includes mechanical function and whole lot of carving starts at $3000. Please see our patronage page to learn more about the commission process.
